ADMISSION

To be admitted to SIS, all students are required to pass an admission test appropriate for their desired grade level. The Admission Team considers a student’s previous academic records and their performance on the placement assessment. the goal of application process, is to determine their potential success within the school’s program. Ultimately, the Principal and have the final authority to accept or reject any applicant.

Parents must provide several documents, including:

  • A copy of students’ Passport.
  • A copy of Resident card/ Health insurance card 
  • Copies of parents’ passports.
  • A copy of their vaccination or medical fitness certificate, and suitable.
  • Copies of attested academic records or a final report from their previous school.

KG1: 3.5 years old before April 1st of the current year.

KG2: 4.5 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade1: 6 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade2: 7 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade3: 8 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade4: 9 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade5: 10 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade6: 11 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

Grade7: 12 years old before April 1st  of the current year.

  • SIS accepts students from Japanese School or any other school to join any grade.
  • Students will be enrolled in their grads according to their age and their placement test results.
  • The school does not accept requests from parents for specific class or teacher placement.

Application, Tuition, and enrollment fees are shown below.

  1. Application Fees: 10,000 Yen (paid once upon application)
  2. Enrollment fees: 40,000 Yen (paid once upon enrollment)

*Annual fees of 480,000 paid in 2 installments on April and September (240,000* 2 installments) or in monthly installments (40,000 *12 months)

For students whose education is fully sponsored by a company, embassy, or other official institution, standard (non-subsidized) fees apply, as these students are not eligible for individual or sibling-based discounts.

The applicable fees are as follows:

  • Entrance Fee: 200,000 JPY
    (One-time payment upon enrollment)

  • Tuition Fee: 120,000 JPY per month

These fees apply regardless of grade level and are subject to confirmation through official sponsorship documentation. Payment schedules and invoicing arrangements may be coordinated directly with the sponsoring organization upon request.

Through the Sapporo City subsidy program, eligible families may receive a government tuition fee subsidy of 37,000 JPY per month. This amount is reimbursed to families, effectively reducing the monthly tuition cost.

For Children of Hokkaido University Students
Eligible students receive a 50% tuition fee discount, with monthly tuition set at 20,000 JPY.

For Children of Hokkaido University Researchers and Staff
Eligible students receive a 25% tuition fee discount, with monthly tuition set at 30,000 JPY.

Families who have real financial difficulties can apply for a partial or total exemption from one/all of these expenses, the school will arrange for a donor to cover these expenses from the zakat funds, while ensuring that the family’s privacy is preserved.

If a student demonstrates exceptional abilities such as memorizing 15 or more parts of the Qur’an, excelling in sports, mathematics, or science, they will be eligible for a 25% waiver on tuition and enrollment fees. To qualify for this exemption, the student must provide relevant documentation or take the necessary tests.
