INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SUBJECT

Syllabus

Sapporo Islamic International School (SIIS) Elementary school used an international standard syllabus that is integrated with Islamic education. The outline of the learning points provided in IT subject includes:

  1. Understand the basic components of a computer system, including hardware (such as CPU, monitor, keyboard, and mouse) and software (operating systems, applications).
  2. Learn essential computer skills, including file management, keyboarding, and using common software programs for word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets.
  3. Explore the history and evolution of computing technology, gaining appreciation for its impact on society and everyday life.
  1. Differentiate between hardware and software components, understanding their respective functions and roles within a computer system.
  2. Identify and describe various hardware peripherals, such as input devices (keyboard, mouse), output devices (monitor, printer), and storage devices (hard drives, USB drives).
  3. Gain proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware devices and software applications, fostering problem-solving skills and technical competence.
  1. Utilize Google applications such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, respectively.
  2. Collaborate effectively with peers on projects and assignments using Google Drive for file sharing and real-time editing.
  3. Understand the importance of digital privacy and security when using online tools and platforms, practicing responsible behavior and ethical use of technology.

Storybook

The following is an elementary school student project on the subject of IT, specifically in the focus of multimedia learning. In quarter 4 of the 2022-2023 academic year, LE grade students made a final project in the form of a storybook. Here are some storybooks written and designed by our students.
